What happens when you put a writer in a room and start asking questions?

You get stories. Opinions. Rabbit holes. Unexpected connections. Probably a few strong feelings about books.

No Write Answers is a podcast about writers, writing, inspiration, and tangents – some more than others. Each episode starts with a writer, a set of questions, and sometimes we stick to the format, and sometimes I get distracted.

We talk about poetry, fiction, creativity, and the writing process. Sometimes (more often than not), the conversation heads in unexpected directions.

There’s a possibility of thoughtful literary discussions.

There’s usually a lightning round.

There are definitely tangents.

And just like there are No Write Answers (hehe) to any of my questions, there are also no sure things when it comes to this podcast (other than tangents).

About the Host

Kathy Contant is a writer, teacher, reader, and lifelong collector of questions.

She holds an MFA in Creative Writing and spends her days teaching English, talking about books, and encouraging students to look a little closer at the words on the page. She is also an unapologetic believer that the best conversations rarely stay on the original topic.

She has a particular and slightly unreasonable fascination with T. S. Eliot, which has somehow survived years of teaching, rereading, and attempts to explain to other people why Four Quartets is worth reading again. She also plays video games, because apparently spending hours thinking about fictional worlds isn’t enough unless you get to wander around inside one.

That same curiosity is at the heart of No Write Answers.

Kathy created the podcast to talk with writers about the things that inspire them, the stories they tell, the books they love, and the wonderfully unpredictable paths that lead from one idea to another.

When she’s not teaching, reading, playing a game, or asking writers questions, she’s probably thinking about what to ask next. Or taking a nap. Probably taking a nap.
